Canary Illness: Rescued Canary With NO FEET!

Canary Illnesses: Feather plucked, NO FEET!, and exhausted.

Just rescued Mama and Son canaries.

Mama is somewhat plucked and the son has NO FEET! The first night I had them, I thought the son was going to die. He laid on top of the furry bed that I made him and just looked totally exhausted. He laid there listlessly, barely able to keep his eyes opened.

I covered them that night and prayed for God to take him if he was not going to get better. Well, that was 10 days ago and now he acts and looks as normal as any Canary with NO FEET can look! I gave Mama and son 5 day treatment of Iverlux for air sac mites and 5 days worth of antibiotics in their water.

Son is starting to sing very nicely and Mama sings too, just not as well as her 8 month old son. They love each other. They both are happy and healthy because of a little common sense and a whole lot of LOVE!

I ended up naming them Mama Bird and Baby Boy! They are both so sweet. What a privilege and an honor to be able to take care of the beautiful creatures!

Bird who got his nails cut NEW
by: Anonymous

To the person who cut his bird's toenails....his toe is probably sore and that is why he is not putting pressure on it. I would give him a day or so to see if he gets any better. If not, you will have to take him to an avian vet.
Good luck with your feathered friend.AbaCUS
